RELIGION

I am a Christian to the extent that I concur with Saint Paul in saying, “And if I have the gift of prophesy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge and have not love, I am nothing”.  I am a Buddhist to the extent that I realize, with Gautama, that only when a man forsakes all his desires is he really free. I am a Jew to the extent I believe profoundly in the saying. “ Hear, O Isreal, the Lord our God is one.” I am a Hindu to the extent of believing and practicing the kingly science of Yoga, the science of Union with the spiritual Self. I am a Mohammedan to the extent that I rely on Allah above all else. And finally, I am a follower of Lao-Tzu to the extent that I accept his perception of the strange paradoxes of life.
I will not walk with Christians into an exaltation of truth above what Christ teaches, those words that have life and death in them. I will not walk with a Buddhist into a denial of the beauty and pleasure which existence holds for me. I will not walk with Jews into a shackling of the mind of supine fatalism which deprives the innate divine strength in Man. I will not walk with Mohammedan into the prison house of a single book, no matter how sacred it be. And finally, I will not walk with the Chinese Tao-ists into a System of superstitious mummery which mocks the great men it is supposed to honour.
I do not believe that God has given a monopoly of truth to any of us; the sun is for all alike. No land or race can claim a monopoly of truth. No creed has the power to copyright the truth.
Religion was man idea in reaching out to an unseen being and this has affected the idea of a better co-existence that should settle within the frames of our mind. God never instituted any religion whatsoever. It is an act of selfishness and disobedience that mere religious organization existed. it is a way of telling how incorrect how neighbours and how far holy we are in worshipping a being. But sadly, God was from creation not interested in the idea of ‘I am better than you’. All he cared about is personally relationship to him and relationship to what he so much cherished, Man.  Rather than exalt fellow Man above religion, Man as exalted injustice, immorality and hatred starting from the religion habitat and consuming it to the detriment of Himself and his neigbours. God is a subject men often talk about but rarely understands. True holiness is within Man and not in stonewalls and timbered roofs.  Five different religions are simply a way of showing five different ways of manipulating the idea of a God. The faithful of every Religion tries to corral God for them alone, the foolish of every creed think. He narrows down his wide love to their particular flock.
We are the creature of the age in which we live. We are born to express the mind and heart of the 21st century and not the third. Therefore a religion which was formed to appeal to the men of the third century may possible leave us cold and misguided. Every Religion to appeal in our age must be reborn in sound thinking and doctrine. The future of Man is with God his creator, and not in any made religion that at worse degrade Man from it true calling of existence. In most of this religion is a missing truth or a truth left untold and if freedom which God wants for His creation is to be achieved, the truth must be personally be researched. Religion is a bucketful of water given to a particular people; the well is truth itself. To know the truth which is God is Himself is to know the deep, unmoved rest which is at the centre of our being. Man must again search from within, worship from within and not be deceived by doctrine and principle fashioned in religion today. The untold truth about all religion is that they either hide the truth or manipulate the truth, but for man to be free from this shackles, the journey must begin in knowing and studying for the truth. It is time Man acknowledges that the dealings of God varies from Man to Man and Man must henceforth not do the dealings of God by fighting for him or creating the holier than thou,  but what is required is simply love your neighbour as yourself and worship God within the frames of your heart (keeping all believe to the self); and whatever you believe- be it you call yourself a slave, a child or an animal, it is always true that the dealings of God to every being is different and until the truth is known, Mans suffers of a terrible diseases called ignorance. ….(to be continued)

Diary of Arike

I have done it all. Yes. Slept with all kinds of men. The tall dark fine ones without six packs, the ugly dudes with smelling armpits, the fair ones with body hair well shaved like a trimmed garden. The naughty ones who would insist on everything, pushing and pulling you all over every sections till they ran out of zeal and the boastful ones who would just brag about everything but at the end of the day fall asleep like palm oil inside the bottle. My name is Arike. I would not say I am proud of the job, i don’t even know if i should say i did it for the money or whether to affirm that i did it for a long hatred without healing. I was disflowered when i was still young to know the mounting troubles of life. I was raped by a step father who took the advantage of my unloving mother. I would not blame him, I blame my dad who was drunk to the point of meeting death on the express way. Life has being everything to me- the good, the bad and the ugly. The constant rape never ceased after t...

Oluwakemi

The first time I saw you Was the day the you gave a full smile That caught the attention of the crescent sun It was the day I came out of darkness Because you chose to become my light My own crescent sun It was a day my dreams ended Because you chose to become a reality That day was glorious bright The lustrous green leaves gave a charming smile To the appearance of the golden sun The birds were free-flying upon the sky’s table The rivers poured stylishly into the bounty of the Flowing sea’s pool Everything was good and in order I knew from your eyes That I had no more secrets You are my hidden secrets exposed From your hair down to your feet I knew God painstakingly spent extra days To create a mortal like you for me When God was creating a million And when God completed the whole creation Out of the billion, you outshine their union You are true because you are rarer You are not an Angel, Angels are meant to serve men Y...
